Welcome!!!  All of us at Kelso want to make this a successful year for your child.

 

I can not wait to continue our tremendous progress in the area of Reading and Math.  The goal of our school is to provide each child with challenging and rigorous curriculum appropriate to his/her academic level.  I believe every child can achieve academic success.  To this end, every child will be provided with quality instructional experiences, which recognize, support, and maintain high expectations.

 

As your principal, you can expect that I will ask for your support, ideas, suggestions, and involvement.  If you are not already involved, I encourage you to become active in preparing our children for the future through volunteering and/or participating in the Kelso Community Club.  There are many ways you can support your child's learning.  Here are four ideas:

     * Spend a few minutes everyday discussing your child's day and

     looking over handouts and homework.

     * Have a dedicated homework location and time.

     * Contact your child's teacher immediately if you notice a problem.  

     Working together will help your child succeed.

     * Attend conferences, parent meeting, and school events regularly.
