Meal Charging

District students will be allowed to charge for meals following the Oregon statute.  Adults and non-OTSD enrolled youth will not be allowed to charge for meals.  After a charge balance equivalent to five (5) meals or greater is accumulated, the following steps will be taken until such time as the balance is reduced below that level:

• The parent /guardian will be contacted to offer an application for enrollment in the free and reduced meal program.
• The parent/guardian will be contacted via a weekly automated messaging system requesting payment of the negative balance.
• The parent/guardian will also be contacted weekly a second time via email information about the negative balance.
• Students will not be eligible for participation in co-curricular activities, including but not limited to sports, activities and dances.

The district reserves the right to turn over any delinquent balances for collection upon separation of the student from the district.  

Account Fund payments for milk only or ala-carte purchases can be made online at http://family.titank12.com/ or by cash/check to the school office/kitchen manager. No charges are allowed for milk only or ala-carte purchases, children need to have money in their account or with them for the purchase of milk or Ala Carte items.

Free or reduced school meal eligibility is important for you or your school as it leads to potential additional Federal Funding.  Additional benefits include:

• Discounted program fees (ie. Athletics)
• Increase your school’s eligibility to receive grant funding
