Jazz great Herbie Hancock was a child prodigy, first learning to play the piano at the age of seven and then playing the first movement of Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 26 in D Major with the Chicago Symphony Orchestra when he was 11. One of his greatest jazz songs, “Chameleon,” will be played on Thursday, March 21 as part of the Sandy High School band concert, featuring the Jazz Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble and the Wind Ensemble.
The concert takes place from 7-9 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
