Sandy High School graduation rate surpasses 96 percent for 2025
Data released by the Oregon Department of Education revealed that the Sandy High School graduation rate for 2025 was 96.3 percent. The 2025 graduation rate for the entire state was at 83 percent.
“This level of student achievement can be credited to their diligence and hard work throughout the years, as well as the support from their families, teachers, school staff and the broader community,” Oregon Trail School District Superintendent Aaron Bayer said.
The data included a 98.67 percent for students who participated in a Career and Technical Education (CTE) program and 100 percent for students who concentrated in a CTE program.
Sandy High School has been recognized as a regional leader in CTE, including a regional needs assessment that found the school’s machining program aligned with 88 percent of employer expectations and the welding and fabricating program aligned with 79 percent of employer expectations, both the highest in the county. This school year, SHS added a new Emergency Medical Response class that provides students with the opportunity to earn EMR and American Heart Association Basic Life Support certifications, as well as a new DJI Dock 2 and Matrice 3TD drone, offering students a chance to train in Beyond Visual Line of Sight operations at a time when the Federal Aviation Administration prepares new rules to make these operations widespread across the country.
The district also offers middle school electives that articulate with the high school’s CTE programs, and middle school students can earn high school credits in classes including English, Spanish, Algebra 1 and numerous CTE offerings.
“We recognize the value of having many different pathways to graduation,” Bayer said. “Every student deserves the chance to seek out their own path to the future they deserve, whether that is continuing their education, entering the job force, serving in the military or other pursuits.”
